Photograph produced during the International University Meet in Noisy-le-Grand, France in November 1994.
The series was commissioned as part of a cultural assignment by the Seine Saint-Denis council for a 4m x 3m poster advertising the 5th ESIEF trophy.

I discovered this sport here, the atmosphere, the lunges. At this point I was almost under them, nearly lying on the piste at the risk of being trampled or even empaled. I couldn’t stay there for very long.

Le choix de Jean-Denis

The masks are like cosmonaut helmets, the idea of constellations is produced by the small lights on the ceiling. This image can take you to far away places.
